Accessories are so much fun. I love adding unique and fun jewelry to complete an outfit. This fall dig into your jewelry box and find a bold unique piece that you haven’t worn. Accessorizing is the best way to dress up a simple outfit.

When adding a bold piece of jewelry, keep your outfit as simple as possible. If you’re wearing a bold necklace, such as a chunky coral necklace, keep your earrings more delicate by adding hoops or studs. Wearing all black or white T'shirt would look great with colorful stones. Accessorizing is the best way to add more interest in what you are wearing and a great way to express your sense of style.

Look for styles like this and add some fun to your outfit.

If your statement piece is in the form of earrings, I suggest skipping a necklace or keeping it delicate. Look for shapes and colors that are flattering to the shape of your face. A pair of great earrings can update your look instantly. Some pieces I love:

If you are afraid of being so bold, start with a cocktail ring. In no time you will start adding cuffs and bangles.

How many ways can you accessorize?

Most people think accessorizing is only in the form of jewelry. Did you know you can also accessorize with hand bags and shoes?
Add pops of color by adding sandals with gemstones.

Dresses dresses, a must for the summer!
With so many options of color and print,
you cannot help but add a few into your wardrobe.
Dresses can be worn day, night , casual and dressy.
Consider your body type when shopping for dresses.
For example, if you are on the short side,
a mini or long dress will be the best for you.

A long dress will give you taller silhouette effect.
A mini will give you a taller effect by exposing more leg.

Don't be afraid to wear dresses in the day.
Pair them up with flat sandals and/or a denim jacket for more of a relaxed look.
Accessories are fun to add as well. Go for lots of bangles or an interesting cuff.

Crop it!

This summer the cropped jacket is a key item to add to your wardrobe. You can create a variety of looks with this one simple piece. Whether you want to wear this as a casual look or dress it up for an evening out, the cropped jacket can be very versatile.

Evening: You can pair the jacket with the iconic "little black dress" and voila! You have updated your look in an instant.
After Hours: If you are running straight from the office to meet with girlfriends for happy hour or to grab an early dinner with your hubby, you can pair your cropped jacket with black trousers and lots of bold accessories.
Day: Cropped blazer can be paired with a basic white tank and jeans.
Casual Chic: If you are a little nervous to incorporate the cropped jacket into your wardrobe, an easy way to implement the look is by simply layering it over a basic piece.
If you are looking for a more polished look, pair a cropped white blazer with high-waisted slacks. Trendier look, you can opt for a pair of torn denim jean, an embelished top with the cropped jacket to add a little bit more of an urban feel.

One of my personal favorite items to shop for is the handbag. The great thing about shopping for a handbag is that no matter what kind of mood you are in or if you do not feel like trying clothing on- it is always fun to shop for. It is as simple as “love at first sight.” You see the bag and you know instantly if it is right for you.

Well, this summer keep in mind that the bigger the better! Similar to other summer accessories, handbags that are BIG and BOLD will be hot this summer. Huge totes and large comfortable bags will be a perfect addition to anyone’s wardrobe. Another popular look will be bags with chains as pictured above.

Looking for a fresh and up-to-date look for an evening out on the town? The FRINGED LOOK is a flapper inspired trend that is sexy and chic. Want to really WOW your wardrobe? Incorporate a pair of fringed heels! Of course do not wear the look together which would be definite overkill.

GRECIAN influence is huge on the runways with flowing and draping dresses. However, unless you are looking for a couture gown or attending a formal gala; a great and simple way to incorporate this trend is with the GLADIATOR SANDAL. This has been a MUST HAVE since last summer. So if you still do not have this wardrobe staple – you need to make a trip to the department store or do little on-line shopping ladies! This is an easy way to keep your wardrobe contemporary and works on everyone.

Speaking of shoes, other trends to integrate are shoes with DETAIL. LACES, BUCKLES, STRAPS, STUDS, CHAINS, SPIKES, EMBELLISMENTS, TIES, and ANKLE STRAPS (you get the idea) are going to be a big deal this summer and a perfect way to make your outfit pop.

Lastly, accessories with ETHNIC undertones and RICH COLORS are a great addition to your summer wardrobe. GEOMETRIC SHAPES, BIG and BOLD pieces are very very “in.” It’s all about statement pieces this summer.

I wanted to share this really sweet email I recently received from one of my clients. You need to have the right essential pieces to build a confident wardrobe that is fun and easy to put together.
Every women should feel this way. If you are not feeling it, then this is a good time to start. Make 2009 the year for a positive change for your self and dress your best.

I was at my mother’s house this weekend and she felt compelled to go through boxes of old pictures to purge, clean and give away. I wanted you to you know how much I appreciate you helping me with my wardrobe. All I have to say is “Thank god for Mahjuba”!!!! You have no idea (well, yes, you probably actually do have an idea) of how scary I look in sooooo many of the pictures. I wish I had known you 20 years ago!!!!! I mean realllllyyy SCARY Mahjuba!!!

Anyway, I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I wanted to send you a note to let you know how awesome you are and how you have really changed my life for the better. I have so much more confidence now… I feel so much better getting dressed in the morning, I feel better about myself and I’m just happier. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Happy New Year Fashionistas!
Its been a crazy few months. I have shopped and shopped. Despite all the sales, I have not found much that I had to have for my clients or even for my self. Now that is pretty pathetic.
Yes, up to 60% off was tempting but why buy things you don't need and clutter your closet?
I have found that less is more when building a wardrobe. 2009 is going to a great year in fashion.
I am looking forward to spring and summer collections and trends. Its my favorite season.
What will they have in store for us? Wedges and platforms here we come! Stay tuned......................

BRA THERAPY DAY

We had a successful Bra Therapy event hosted by myself and Wacoal Intimate Apparel.
My clients were given one on one personal Bra Fittings by a very experienced Specialist to make sure they are wearing the right size as well as having the right everyday bra. Building intimate apparel essentials is very similar to building a successful wardrobe. You need basic essentials, good quality and the RIGHT fit. It was a really fun day.

My fitting was long over due. I believe you should be fitted every couple of years. Your body changes with time especially if you have had weight loss/gain or baby. In my case I had a baby
2 years ago. I went from having Pam Anderson's cleavage to Nicole Ritchie's lovely little nuggets. What a difference! I got a whole new set of bras and embraced my size. I even opted for the $75 Boob JOB. Gotta love that! After my BRA THERAPY day I came home and was on a mission. Out with the old and in with the new. I got rid of those bras that have been taking up prime real estate in my closet. It felt SO good to be wearing a bra that fits right and is super comfy.
So here is what my drawer looks like now:

Here are some suggestions:
2-4 T shirt bra's in nude color. NO LACE or DESIGN. just plain!
2 black bras. 1 T shirt and 1 Lace and or sexy.
1 Push up or $75 Boob job
1-2 Strapless (black, nude or white)
1 Racer back (black or white)
1 set of DIMR"S (mentioned on previous blog)

Add this shoe to your wardrobe this fall

This is a shoe that every fashionable women should have in their wardrobe especially fall season.
It is like an accessory. It is chic yet cool and sexy. I especially love the heel height. I LOVE a high heel but the heel on this shoe is very wearable. These are by Dolce and Gabbana. Don't cheat your self on shoes ladies. Put these babies on and trust me, you will feel like you can conquer the world, well maybe not the world but you will be kicking some booty.
Honestly, this style is easy to wear and can give the jeans and T shirt a new look.

They should not be able to make a matching vest to go with these jeans. It simply should not be allowed. I loved that she took a classic white shirt and paired it with funky jeans, I will give her that. But what I do have to say is that this women is too old for this type of look. It out dates her and is not flattering for her body type at all.
with that said, please people, stop trying to match so much. Get creative and mix up it up a little.

I have found the most incredible nipple covers EVER!
Every women should have at least one set in their wardrobe. Trust me, I have tried many alternatives on my self and clients but this has worked the best so far. No lines, no funny "look at me, I have flower petals for nipples" or tape that literally waxes your nipple hairs off ...well I guess the nipple hair thing is kind off gross. It's the worst when I see women dressed beautifully but the headlights are too blinding for my poor eyes. I am so excited to share this with you.

i have a baby and trust me i do not want to look pregnant again, especially when i am not.
there are a lot of ladies who have this problem. i think it is because they think they are fat and are trying to hide. clearly, this is not the right choice top for her body. this fabric is clinging to all the wrong areas. what she needs is to create balance separating her top half from the bottom, making them equal. a shirt that hits her mid hip area will give her a better proportion. a nice wrap top with a fun camisole underneath will create a better waistline. her jeans are too tight and the denim wash gives the illusion she is bigger then she is. i would put her in a boot leg darker jean. darker makes the leg look thinner. don't be afraid to try new colors of denim. you might be surprised.

this poor lady or is it a man! it is tough when you cannot figure out what sex a person is.
i am going to go with a lady on this one. love the pschyodelic look, i used to love grateful dead but that was a long long time ago. i don't mind her shorts but the top is pretty bad. imagine her shorts with a nice basic t shirt, layered with tank top perhaps in a fun color and jeweled sandals. now we are talking. she also needs to get rid of all that junk in the back. a man bag would be a nice touch or a handbag.

due to high demand, here it goes. my fashion blog. its about time.
lets start with" what are you thinking" basically leaving the house like that!
america is in fashion crises. with your help, we can try to resolve this emergency situation.
i need you to be my fashion police. lets get this thing under control. if you shop as much as i do or even just leave your house, you know who i am talking about. let's get this straight, i am here to help people dress better not ridicule them. there are so many options these days that there is just no excuse. i am going to share with you all my secrets and treasure finds in hopes that it will help get your wardrobe under control. if you find a goody you think i need to know about, by all means, do share.
here is how this will work. i am going to post a totally innocent by standard every week that fits the " what are you thinking" and attempt to help them. hey it might help you too or you probably know of someone that need some suggestions. keep in mind that i am a professional at this.
with that said the fashion police is out and about.
